Yoga that's Free!

Into yoga but just can't budget that class fee?  No worries, Discovery Green, the park located downtown offers free "Yoga in the Park".  I have been practicing yoga for a number of years and have taken my share of good and not so good classes.  It seems that every yogi has their own opinion on what qualifies as a good yoga class.  I really liked "Yoga in the Park" because of the following reasons:
1.  It's outside. Who doesn't love fresh air?
2.  Its challenging, yet simple enough for whatever your level is.  The instructor, Jerry Randall, offers modifications or more diffcult poses based on your level. He is also very humble and instructs you to take it at your own pace.  Hey--sometimes I just want to lay in corpse pose while everyone else is doing a back bend, it's okay here:)
3.  It's popular.  There is something more motivating when practicing with a bunch of people.  They were at least 30 people there when I went!
4.  It's close.  Only about 4 miles away--close enough to bike!
5.  It's free!  So even if you hate it, you are not losing out at least giving it a try!

They also provide yoga mats so no need to spend extra $$ on buying a mat either!

"Yoga in the Park" is held Saturdays at 9:30am.  There are also other fitness classes available for free at the park.  Visit the website: www.discoverygreen.com for more information.
Discovery Green is located at 1500 McKinney St.
